We're happy to announce the birth of WestSide Books, a new company created to publish exciting new fiction for young adult readers. WestSide novels illuminate the world that teenagers live in now, and illustrate their diverse and complicated lives. Our novels are edgy, reflecting the real issues, problems, and situations that teenagers contend with every day.
WestSide novels feature young adults who are like the kids you know or wish you knew. These fresh, compelling books feature realistic characters who deal with perennial issues ranging from abuse, divorce, drugs, gangs, bullying, illness and the death of a parent or sibling, to bigotry, war, poverty, or homelessness, yet their stories are laced with humor and bursting with life. The books feature typical kids who come from all walks of life, and whose ancestries range from African, Irish, and Italian to Latino, Asian, and Native American. They are about typical young people living in the U.S. and elsewhere, whether in cities, suburbs, or rural settings. WestSide novels are fun to read and ring true, realistically portraying teenagers in today's world. We at WestSide are committed to publishing books that will interest all young adult readers, even those who may not yet know they like to read.
